THE FORMAT: TWO-MAN SHAMBLE

  • The Drive: Both partners tee off. The team selects the best drive.

  • The Approach: Both players place their ball within one club-length of the selected drive (no closer to the hole and staying in the same condition—e.g., rough remains rough).

  • The Finish: From that point, each partner plays their own ball until it is holed out.SCORING & PURSE

  • Dual Divisions: Awards will be issued for both Gross and Net champions.

  • Deep Payouts: A minimum of 25% of the field will finish in the money.

  • One Best Ball Net: The lower of the two partners' net scores is the team score for the hole.

DIVISIONS: GROSS & NET

The field will be scored in two distinct divisions:

  • Gross Division: Straight-up scoring with no handicap strokes applied. This division is for teams seeking to prove they are the best "pure" sticks on the Tour.

  • Net Division: Scoring based on the 70% adjusted Playing Handicaps.

  • Note: Teams are eligible to win in only one division (typically the higher-value prize).

HANDICAP & ELIGIBILITY

  • 70% Allowance: All players receive 70% of their Course Handicap. This is a "Signature Series" standard designed to favor consistent ball-striking.

  • The "Rule of 10": A team’s handicap differential is capped at 10 strokes. If Partner A is a 5 and Partner B is an 17, Partner B will be adjusted to a 15 (5 + 10) before the 70% reduction is applied.

  • Verification Policy: Players must have a verified GHIN. If a handicap cannot be verified, the Two-Man Tour Player’s Council will assign a handicap based on historical tour data or peer review.

$1,000+ guaranteed for 1st Place Gross and 1st Place Net

  • 8:00 am Shotgun Start

    • 18-Hole | 2-person Shamble

    • Double bogey max on all holes

  • Tees: Men 59 and under play the Blue Tees, Men 60 and over play the White Tees

    Men 70 and over play the Green tees

  • Open to all golfers not actively competing on a professional tour

  • 2-Man Shamble Format

  • Gross Winners and Net Winners | A minimum of 25% of the field will finish in the money

  • Your Team Handicap will be determined by a Modified Peoria System following play

  • Skins Game - Team Gross Skins Game Only - Optional ($50/team)

  • *Prize fund based on a full field

  • Your team can win gross or net. Teams are not eligible to win both.

 

The Top Three Finishing Gross Teams will qualify for the Texas 2-Man Championship

 **Each entry includes $80 per player allocated to the prize fund. 100% of the prize fund is paid out**

How the Modified Peoria System Works

The Peoria System is a handicapping method used in golf to calculate your team's handicap.

  1. Before the tournament, the organizers select six random holes from the course. 

  2. Teams will compete in a 2-person shamble format. Double bogey max on all holes

  3. After the round, the organizers reveal the selected holes.

  4. Tournament organizers will calculate your team Peoria handicap for the day by adding their scores on the selected holes, multiplying by a factor, and then posting your net team score.
