Alabama 2-Man Challenge Season Recap

Hey Alabama Golfers,

As we look back on the 2025 season, one word comes to mind: Growth. It was a year defined by bigger fields, terrific payouts and some of the most competitive amateur golf we have ever seen on the RTJ Golf Trail and beyond. From the coastal breeze to the mountains of North Alabama, the Alabama 2-Man community showed up in a big way.

In total, 366 players competed with us this season for $50,160 in cash prizes and skins across multiple flights. We are proud to report that our commitment to deep payouts remained a staple of the tour, ensuring that over a quarter of the field at every single stop walked away with more than just great memories.

Our journey started in March at RTJ Hampton Cove, where 84 players battled for an $11,080 purse. We saw dominant flight wins from the teams of Heflin/Townley and Pemberton/Whitmire, while two spectacular eagles on holes 3 and 15 set the tone for the high-level shot-making we would see all year long.

By early summer, we moved to Magnolia Grove, where 60 players competed for over $9,000. This stop was highlighted by the team of Kassels and Twesme taking the top spot in the first flight with a stellar 132. It was also the weekend Rodger Fike made tour history by sweeping both closest to the pin contests on Sunday.

The peak of our summer took us to the RTJ Golf Trail at The Shoals. The energy on the Fighting Joe course was electric, especially when Todd Anderson and Josh Butcher drained an eagle on hole #7 to snatch a $900 skin.

We closed out the season in spectacular fashion at Gunter’s Landing with our largest field of the year. 114 players competed for $14,500 in cash prizes and skins across four flights. The competition was fierce, the views were world-class, and 28% of the field finished in the money to cap off a record-breaking year.

The feedback from our player survey tells the real story of the Alabama 2-Man series. Your comments highlighted the "fair" and the "professional tournament atmosphere" that we strive to provide.

We also want to congratulate survey winners, Dave Dallmer, Jim Pemberton, and Timothy Nave, who represent the dedicated community that makes this tour possible.

Thank you for an unforgettable 2025.

Registration now open for Gulf Shores, The Shoals, and Gunter's Landing, the next chapter of the Alabama 2-Man Challenge is ready to be written.
